Lives and works in Lviv, Ukraine. Graduated from the Lviv Polytechnic Institute, Architecture Department. Member of the Ukraine Artists Union. Recipient of Ukraine’s National Architecture Award. Merited Artist of Ukraine II. Known for his Kozak Mamai series featuring icon-like depictions of a cossack with a bandura (folk instrument) – a prominent motif in Ukrainian folk art. He dedicated his Mamai series to the memory of bandura and kobza (another folk instrument) players, as well as minstrels executed by Stalin’s regime in Kharkiv in 1933. Many of the artist’s works can be found in collections in Ukraine and abroad.
